Today ABC played one of my favorite movies to watch during the holidays, The Family Man. This movie nevers get old. The older I get, the more this movie reminds me of the importance of choices. The more you think about it, the more you realize that each and every choice you make affects you at some point down the line, whether big or small in magnitude. In the movie, Jack Campbell faced a crossroads early on his life: go to London and chase after his professional aspirations, or stay stateside and marry the love of this life. In reality, Jack chose to pursue his personal ambitions and ends up becoming a super successful Wall Street man. When Jack gets a glimpse of what his life could have been had he chose Kate, his college girlfriend, we see that his life would have been different myriad ways. I adore this movie because it reminds you to do what makes you happy, and to chase after what’s truly important in life. The end of the movie reminds you that it’s never too late to start over, or try for a second chance. Reminds me of the F. Scott Fitzgerald quote about living a life you’re proud of. Good stuff.
